I am Erina van der Westhuizen, and I live
in the small town of
Vryheid, South Africa.
I have a very supportive husband of 26
years and 3 children 18, 21 and 25. We have 8 cats and 6
dogs--most of them strays that needed a home. I am
a qualified bookkeeper, and I used to teach computer
classes to make a living. Some of my
fondest memories are of the 3-6 year old
preschool children that I taught –they amazed me with
the
computer skills they were able to develop.
I have always been interested in all
kinds of handcrafts. From a young age, I
learned to crochet and knit and loved it--my
Barbie doll always had crocheted dresses.
Later I got interested in
fabric painting and woodcarving. As
a natural progression in my use of computers, I started
digitizing in
November 2005;
and my first set, "Christmas
Bargain", was on the Internet before Christmas that same
year. Once the digitizing bug bit me, I knew there
was no stopping me. I have always felt that I am
very lucky to be able to make a living out of something
I really enjoy. At first I did it as a hobby, but now
it is a fulltime job.
